Every illustration on this site is original AI-generated artwork created for Norrath 1999 by Johnston Ventures LLC in October 2026: the eight original scenes (hero cliff, port city, treetop city, flooded dungeon, nightmare plane, monster train, hero lineup, frozen continent) plus 102 original painterly illustrations added on October 22, 2026, one made for each lore story (including the twelve wave-three stories such as Neriak, Grieg’s End and Zebuxoruk), the Pantheon of Norrath page, each of the fifteen class deep dives (Warrior to Berserker), and the Zones, Culture, EverQuest Today, Shaman, Sleeper’s Tomb, Lore Library, Lore A–Z and About pages. Each painting appears on one page only, and the build refuses to publish if any image is reused on a second page. They are inspired by classic fantasy, imitate no game screenshots, logos or box art, contain no real people, and are not in-game screenshots.

Design and type

The stone-and-bronze window frames, parchment panels, experience bar and chat window are original CSS created for this site in October 2026, inspired by the feel of classic fantasy interfaces; no game interface art is used. The icy Velious theme on the Sleeper’s Tomb page (frost-blue frames, the ice-crystal and sleeping crystal dragon SVG drawings, and the CSS snowfall) is also original, made for this site in October 2026. The coloured emblems and themed frames in the Lore Library are original SVG and CSS made for this site in October 2026; lore pages are retold in our own words from the sources each chapter links. Headings use Cinzel by Natanael Gama and body text uses IM Fell English by Igino Marini, both under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and self-hosted.

Chat lines

Chat-window lines are quoted from a publicly posted 2001 EverQuest player log, with other players’ names removed.

Key sources

Most facts on this site are cited first to two long-running community references: Allakhazam (its EverQuest database and wiki of zones, creatures, quests and expansions) and EQ Resource (its expansion guides, news posts and server status). Other sources are listed after them where they add something. Norrath 1999 is not affiliated with either site, and no screenshots or logos from them are used.
